Product & Design Lead
I lead product and design at SmartHow, and I spend most of my time on one question: what should an AI product look like when the AI is doing real work?
At SmartHow we build the management system that runs itself: AI for the quality, maintenance and operations teams of industrial plants. It drafts investigations, updates procedures, briefs handovers, chases corrective actions and prepares audits. My job is the product around that AI: which tasks it takes on by itself, where a person approves, and how each output shows its sources so people can check it.
The moment I care about most is when someone disagrees with the AI. A good product doesn't hide that moment; it asks why. When the reason is captured, and not just the correction, what people know from the floor becomes something the system can learn from. Designing that exchange is, to me, the most important interface work in AI right now.
Here I write about building AI products, with what worked and what didn't. I'm based in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, and I write in English, Portuguese and Spanish.
